Are There Malone Foam Blocks That Don't Have Cut Out

Updated 12/22/2025 | Published 10/03/2024

Question:

Good Morning On those extruded Foam Kayak blocks with the internal T shape form, are there any blocks that are just rectangular w/o the extrusions available? I have a situation where I could use the material, but no contours and just solid. Thanks

Hi Frank,

Each of the foam kayak blocks like the Malone Foam Block for Kayaks and Stand-Up Paddleboards # MPG172 do have some sort of cut out as they're meant to go around crossbars from a roof rack.

There is one type of block that doesn't have a full cut out, just a small one in the middle, the Malone Foam Spacer Blocks for SUPs and Surfboards # MPG176.

This is meant as a spacer instead of a carrier which is why it doesn't have a large cutout, and it'd be the closest option to what you're looking for.

Hey Frank, did the Malone foam spacer blocks end up working for your setup? Knowing how they performed could help others looking for a solid foam option without the full cutout.
