What cargo rack would you recommend for a 2010 Ford Explorer with factory racks?

Hey Ted! Before we add a cargo rack to your Explorer we're going to need to get you set up with some crossbars because you can't mount the rack directly to your side rails if that's all you currently have. The best set is going to be the Inno Aero Flush Roof Rack for Raised Rails item # IN93YV.

I really like the Inno item # IN93YV because they don't extend out past your roof rails. You don't need that extra overhang with a cargo rack and this gives you a better look. These also attach directly to your roof rails and have included locks.

For a cargo basket, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket item # RMCB. This cargo basket has built in clamps that work with round, square, aero/elliptical, and most factory crossbars. So if you already have a set of crossbars you'll just need to make sure they can be spread out between 21" - 30".

The Rhino-Rack item # RMCB measures 47-3/16" long x 35-3/8" wide x 5-1/2" deep. It has a 165 lbs capacity but you will want to verify with your owner's manual what your Explorer's actual capacity is and go by it if it is lower.

I have linked a couple of review videos below so you can see the functions of these parts demonstrated.

Hey Ted, how did the setup with the Inno crossbars and the Rhino-Rack cargo basket work out on your Explorer? It sounds like a clean fit without the extra overhang. Your feedback could help others looking for a similar roof rack setup.
