Question:
I need to replace my break away cable. I tow a jeep with a Blue Ox tow bar. My original is made by SMI MFG and it has 2 quick disconnects on each end. Which would you recommend?

Hello Ron, thanks for getting in touch. The breakaway pin and cable are part of the supplemental braking system. Are you using one of the Demco (formerly SMI) braking systems like the Air Force One or Stay-IN-Play Duo? If so you will need the Breakaway Pin # SM99905. For the cable you can use the Roadmaster # RM-8603 which is a coiled cable that extends to 8' long.
If this is not exactly what you need just let me know and I can make sure you get the right parts.

I am using the Demco. I saw the Roadmaster cable and will order it. the one I have is a small gauge wire (looks like 18-20) so the roadmaster looks a lot stronger. Thanks so much for the quick response! Ron
