Solution for RV Step that Is Damaged with Gear Box 151320

Question:

I am in the same boat- have 151320 gear box - motor number not visible anymore. 1998 Adventurer. Having to beat the motor with hammer to get operation, if lucky. the gearbox also has a broken mounting bolt Am I to understand your correctly that the only option is to replace the entire step unit? There are no conversion or upgrade kits for the motor and gear? Thanks

Yes Joe that is correct. The problem is that if you have the 151320 gear box that means that your current step is old enough that there aren't replacement parts for it and you'd need a new assembly which the # LC372261 is the closest replacement.

@JamesonC was very helpful. The new motor assembly was pretty easy to install and it works like a charm. I would not have found this exact unit without asking on eTrailers help page - they were great, as usual. Don't be afraid to ask and do the job yourself.
