Recommended Replacement for a Dometic Duo Therm AC w/ Heat Pump

Question:
I have an older 2000 Dometic Doutherm 13500 ac with heat pump with analog wall thermostat controls—single zone on a 2000 Airstream Excella 31 ft. Does this unit use the same communication wire as my current unit? I plan to replace the thermostat and controls digital. I am interested if it is “plug and play”.

The Dometic Penguin II High Capacity RV Air Conditioner w/ Heat Pump item # DMC68ZR is most likely compatible but I can not say for certain without knowing which model your Dometic Duo Therm is. There also is no database that will show me what model AC unit came with your Airstream trailer.
If you could find a part number on your AC we can verify it will work with the item # DMC68ZR two ways. You can look at the list of compatible units in the instructions linked below or you can leave a comment with the part number and I can look it up.
