Recommended Front Hitch for a 2017 Ford Expedition
Updated 09/03/2024 | Published 08/28/2024 >
Question:
I have a 2017 Ford Expedition EL that pulls a 2022 Oliver Elite 2 travel trailer with a tongue weight of about 600 pounds. My parking spot is tight so a front hitch would be useful ti maneuver. I see that your hitch has a 500 pound limit. I would only use the front hitch to move the trailer into position. What would work for my needs? Thanks

Hey John! The only option we have for a front hitch on your 2017 Ford Expedition is the Curt item # C31068 you were looking at. It does have a 500 lbs tongue weight capacity so I am going to have to recommend you follow it even though you're just moving your trailer a short distance.
You can always unload the gear from your trailer and make sure your tanks are empty or you can shift some weight to the back of your trailer to lighten your tongue weight.
I have linked an installation video along with the instructions below so you can see how to get this front hitch set up.
