How to Tell If an Axle Is Frozen

Question:
I have a 1999 utility trailer aluminum with a torsion bar axle, how would I know its frozen? I put weight on it nothing seems to move and going down the road with out anything it, it bangs badly with weight not so much. Im thinking its frozen, thank you

Mark, what you describe definitely makes me believe that your axle is frozen and would need to be replaced. So with that being said, you'd need to let me know what capacity your axle is so we can get you a replacement.
