Replacement Converter for a WFCO 9990 Power Distribution Panel

Updated 09/01/2024 | Published 08/24/2024

Question:

Dear Etrailer, I need to replace the power converter section of my WFCO 9990 power distribution panel. I would like to upgrade it to a “Progressive Dynamics” unit. I use two 6v lead acid wired in series. Please advise. Respectfully, Steve

Hey Steve! I am sorry but there isn't a replacement converter for your WFCO 9990 power distribution panel so you would need to replace the entire thing with the Progressive Dynamics 4500 Series RV Converter w/ Charge Wizard and AC/DC Distribution Panel item # PD4590K18LS8.

The only other protentional option I have is to use the Progressive Dynamics PD9200 Series Battery Converter Charger with Charge Wizard item # PD9260C you were looking at. It tops out at 60 amps and you would have to disconnect your current converter. It would keep you from having to replace the entire power center though.

Hi Jerred, If I decide to replace my current 90amp converter with the PD9260C, as you mentioned, what is that going to impact? I.e. The ability to service my RVs power needs adequately or does it just effect the charging output to the batteries. This information isn't clear when deciding on 60 v.s. 90amp. Changing out the entire power distribution panel is much more involved than just replacing the converter. - Steve

@SteveI Just the charging output. You won't be able to recharge your batteries as quickly.
