Hi Gary,
Did you install the axle upside down so that you could flip the springs? If so you should stop using the trailer immediately until you can get the suspension corrected. Every axle has a slight upward bend in it at the middle so that as weight is added the axle straightens out instead of bowing down.
If you're need to flip the axle below the leaf springs to gain some clearance then you'll just need new spring seats welded to the axle and most likely some new U-bolts to clamp them together. U-bolts typically rust over and don't want to let the nut off without destroying the threads so I typically just cut them off with an angle grinder and replace with new ones.
If you have a round tube axle you can use part # TRSS175 for the spring seats and for the U-bolts you can use the CE Smith # CE23000.

Hey Gary, how did things go after adding the new spring seats and U-bolts to your axle? Did that help correct the bowing and tire wear you were seeing? Your update could make it easier for others dealing with the same issue.
