Recommended Air Lift Air Bags for a 2014 Ram 2500 Towing a 14k Trailer

Updated 08/19/2024 | Published 08/13/2024

Question:

I have a 2014 ram 2500 4 wheel drive. I am considering putting air ride suspension in due to vehicle sag when hauling my 30-foot gooseneck that is rated for 14,000 lb. Not sure if I need to go with the 7500 lb or the 5,000 pound system. What would you recommend.

Hi Shawn, I'd go with the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers # AL88289. These springs are going to give you plenty of load leveling support without making your suspension too stuff. The 7500 XL # AL57589 is designed for really heavy duty loads, so with your trailer being 14,000 lbs I think it'd be overkill.

I appreciate the reply and you pretty much confirmed my thoughts on the weight rating. Just one other question if you don't mind, is there a particular reason why you recommended the Airlift over the Firestone?

@Shawn Anytime! And not really any particular reason, they are both pretty much the exact same thing minus the construction of the bag, and the AirLift have internal jounce bumpers.
