Question:

Hi Jameson, The question "What Happens if One Generator in Parallel Setup Stops Running", you replied "A 50 amp plug like what the parallel kit part # 333-0007 with two of the Firman Generators # FIR54FR puts out 25 amps per leg of the 50 amp connector. So if you lost one of the generators it would basically put out 25 amps." Is your answer stating that each generator is feeding a different leg on the breaker panel so if one stops, only one leg is receiving power or do both generators supply power to both legs of the breaker panel and if one generator stops the one generator running is supplying power to both legs of the breaker panel but just 25 amps? Also, is there any chance of getting back feed to the generator that shut down possibly damaging the stator with only one generator running in parallel?

Hey Troy, that's a great question. In reality if one of the generators quit both legs would drop to 25 amps. Each generator does not supply each leg if that makes sense.

Hey Troy, how did things turn out with your parallel setup using the Firman generators and the power kit? Did the explanation about both legs dropping to 25 amps line up with what you saw in practice? Your results could really help others running a similar setup.
