Question:
can this jack be mounted and used as a tongue jack for light weight trailer. I would like to replace the hand crank and need clearance for the tailgate of the truck.

We can't recommend that for use as a trailer jack. But what type of trailer is it? Is it a-frame trailer? A powered a-frame jack with a longer ball mount might be your best option as that would allow you to have a powered jack like you want and extend it past your tailgate but I would need to know your hitch size currently as well.
