What would be the best for manual and power winch for a rooftop on hinges?

Hello Pincus,
For manual winches I always recommend one with an automatic brake, particularly if it is going to be used on something that isn't rolling. So the best option for that is the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch w/ Automatic Brake # DL15721 with Hand Winch Cable # DL24102.
Then for an electric winch, I like the Dutton-Lainson StrongArm Electric Winch # DL24870 for its high-torque motor and ability to release the load without using power.
