Correct Spacer for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 on 2022 Ford F-350 With 6" Lift

Updated 08/07/2024 | Published 08/02/2024

Question:

I HAVE A 2022 FORD F350 4 WHEEL DRIVE WITH THE IN-BED FACTORY HITCH INSTALLED FOR MY FIFTH WHEEL I PULL. I HAVE THE 5000 ULTIMATE KIT IN MY CART AND READY TO BUY HOWEVER I NEED A QUESTION ANSWERED TO BE ABLE TO ADD THE NEEDED EXTENSION SPACERS. I HAVE A 6 LIFT KIT ON MY TRUCK. I MEASURED FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE TOP FRAME RAIL MOUNTING POSITION TO THE TOP OF THE REAR AXLE MOUNTING POSITION AND THAT DISTANCE CAME OUT TO BE 12.5. WHAT SPACER DO I NEED TO ADD TO THE CART TO MAKE THIS WORK? THANK YOU BRAD.

Hi Brad; thank you for providing that measurement. For the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs # AL23FJ or # AL35FJ you will need the 6" spacer # AL52460.

Hello Robin, I’m just wondering if that’s rakes into the account of the airbag length and the bottom bracket height cause 6” seems to high when I lol my at the specs of the airbags and mounts I do also plan to use the cradles which I forgot to mention previously. Brad

@Brad your standard formula for determining the lift spacer is distance between mounting surfaces - air spring design height = lift spacer. In this case you have 12-1/2" - 6" = 6-1/2" so the 6" lift spacer would be correct (these kits use the 58437 air spring with a design height of 6"). Since you're planning to use the # AL59DQ that gets factored in as well but it won't change the spacer since it is .83" tall. With the cradles you want to be +/- 1" of the design height with the spacer in there. If you take your 12-1/2" measurement, subtract the .83" and the 6" spacer height, you're going to be at a 5.67" design height with the 6" spacer which is within that range.

@RobinH I’m Not sure my Last message me through. I was also asking about another height of the lower axle bracket. My Last airbags had a lower bracket that was 2.5” tall so that would be even less Distance between the airbags and bed let/cradles. Brad
