Question:
I have a 2024 Outback Premium that I need to get a hitch and 7 pin controller for. I am pretty sure the hitch I need is e25TR, but I cannot really figure out a 7 pin connector and brake controller. My trailer is a 2020 Hiker Highway Basic - loaded it is only 1,350 lbs - but it does have electric brakes.

Thanks for reaching out, John!
The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e25TR is definitely the hitch I recommend for your 2024 Subaru Outback Wagon, and then for wiring the best options are to use the T-One # 118467 along with the Universal Kit # ETBC7 - the combination of these wiring kits gets you everything needed to add a brake controller.
For a brake controller, I highly recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR because it doesn't take up space in your cab like the traditional "brick" style, and it has proportional and time-delayed functions built in which is perfect for highway use as well as rough terrain and mountain-type hills.
If you'd rather have more of a budget controller then the Tekonsha Primus IQ # TK90160 will give you the best bang for your buck. It's a proportional controller (so the trailer brakes will mimic your Outback braking) and it comes with a limited lifetime warranty which usually doesn't apply to brake controllers in this price-range.
