Are Grease Seals Supposed to be Curved to Match the Radiused Edge of Bearings
Updated 05/16/2014 | Published 05/15/2014 >
Question:
Hi, Is there a version of the #8 spindo seal kit that has a radius on the inner edge of the stainless ring like #2 for example? These appear to be flat, but the face of the bearing is curved and my spindles are machined to match. Cheers,

Every bearing we sell has that radiused edge that you are referring to so all of the seals we carry would work as long as you get the correct one for your setup. Grease seals do not seal the bearing so they do not have to match curvature. The seals seal the hub bore.
Can you tell me what the bearing number is on your bearing? There's a glare in the picture so I can't see what bearing you have to match the correct seal to it.
I attached a link to an FAQ article on wheel bearing backing as well as a video of how its done below for you to check out.
