Does MORryde RV Generator Slide Out Tray MR89RR Have Capacity for 80 AC Unit

Updated 07/31/2024 | Published 07/29/2024

Question:

I have a pop-up that has an access door on the side which holds a chest cooler which I don’t use. The opening is just a little over 20” wide. I was thinking of mounting a board onto the sliding tray and extending the a/c out of the side rather than mounting over a window . The unit weighs 80 pounds. Would the slide mechanism be able to support this weight when fully extended? I suppose a support brace could also be employed in order to maintain a level a/c, and I’ll use a foam block to isolate the two sections. The reason I’m asking is that the installation instructions state not to place the majority of the weight outside the compartment. Is this only during installation or does it also apply when in use?

Hey Don, yes the MORryde sliding cargo tray part # MR89RR that you referenced does have ability to hold an 80 lb AC unit if that is what you are asking. This actually has a 250 lb weight capacity.

Thanks Jameson. So after I install the rails I can fully extend the drawer and place the majority of the weight on the end of the drawer up to the rated capacity?
