Question:
On my 2003 F150 the bumper hitch has 2 tabs for safety chains hanging down. Will hitch clear these or do they need to be removed? Im looking to buy the 75740 hitch

Hello Rich, thanks for reaching out. In regards to the Draw-Tite # 75740 hitch, I have never heard of the removal of safety chain tabs being a required step. That said, when we put the # 75740 hitch on a 2002 F150, it did not have any tabs like you are describing. So, they SHOULD not need to be removed, but I cannot say this with 100% certainty. If they do end up being an obstruction though, they will need to be removed. The hitch has its own safety chain loops, so you might want to remove the existing tabs anyway, just because they won't be used going forward.
