Can Yakima Dr.Tray Fit 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver
Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/23/2024 >
Question:
I have a Yakima Dr Tray with a 1.25 hitch. I recently bought a car with a 2.0 inch hitch. I know I can buy a hitch extender, but I want to know if Yakima or another company offers a bracket that attached directly to the 1.25 hitch making it fit a 2.0 hitch?

Hi Dale; nobody makes an adapter that will allow the Dr.Tray to directly fit a 2" hitch. Since the shank doesn't have a pin that runs all the way through there is no way to secure the bike rack to the hitch with some kind of reducer sitting directly inside the 2" receiver. The only option is an adapter like the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63YR.

Hey Dale, how did things go with the hitch reducer for your Dr.Tray rack? Your update could make it easier for others trying to fit a 1.25 rack on a 2-inch hitch.
