Can The RockyMounts BackStage Bike Rack Be Left Swung Open?

Question:
Are swing arms bike racks like the Ricky Mounts Backstage means for brief swings of the Ebikes to the side if my Sprinter van or can I leave It in the open position with bikes on it for extended periods to allow the back doors to remain fully open?

While RockyMounts does not state you cannot leave the rack open for extended periods of time on their BackStage Bike Rack # RKY10002, I recommend only leaving the rack swung out when necessary. Leaving it swung open when not needed can easily risk damage to the rack. Someone could trip over the rack or if a kid were try to climb on it the excessive weight would damage the hinge portion.
