Troubleshooting Installation of Curt Wiring Harness on 2009 Subaru Outback

I have a 2009 Subaru outback. The location of the trailer wiring port was further back than in the installation video, and the plug only had 4 flat connectors. It didnt seem to fit with the connector on this part. Am I doing something wrong, or did I get the wrong part?
