Replacement for Vortex II Fan in 1995 Winnebago Warrior
Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 06/28/2024 >
Question:
I have a 1995 Winnebago Warrior with hey Jensen clamp Style roof vent. While the vet itself has been reliable I did attempt to replace the 6-in blade fan with a Vortex ii from Hengs Industries. Unfortunately this fan has proven to be unreliable and has died and been replaced twice since 2021. Is there any other current manufacturer which produces a similar fan to the vortex 2? If not are there any current manufacturers who produce a large bladed fan and a clamp style mount? Our motorhome roof is only 2 in thick. Is the FV801208 fan/vent still available for purchase? If not, are there any other clamp mount style fan/vents available?

Hi Douglas; the old clamp-on style vents like the FV801208 you're referencing are no longer available. The best replacement option for your Vortex II would be the would be the MaxxAir # MA00-04401M. This will require screws for installation but it fits your standard 14" x 14" opening and roofs 1" - 6-1/2" thick so your roof thickness won't be a problem. This uses a large 12" fan with a 900 CFM capacity.

Hey Douglas, how did the MaxxAir fan work out as a replacement for your old clamp-on vent? That 12-inch fan sounds like a solid upgrade from the Vortex II. Your update could make it easier for others with older Winnebago roofs to find a good fit.
