Does Converting Dometic Awning to Solera Require Removing Spring in Roller

Converting Dometic power awning to Solera power awning. Have ordered the heads drive and idler and white cover. Do I need to remove spring in roller tube?

Hey Archie, you would not need to remove the spring as you need that tension in the roller that it creates.

But when I remove the Domestic motor there won't be anything for the spring to catch on so it would not keep tension on it
