Dexter Triangular Equalizer Kit With Wet Bolts And No Grease Zerk On Top of Equalizer

Updated 02/17/2026 | Published 06/22/2024

Question:

I have a Trailex CT7041HS open car trailer. I am wanting to install new equalizers and shackles. I am looking at your Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers - 1-3/4inch Wide Double-Eye Springs Item K71-448-00 My springs are 1-3/4-inch wide. I have no clearance for grease fitting above the equalizers. Do you have an equalizer without the grease fitting? My current shackles are 1/8-inch thick and bolts are 3-7/8-inch. How long are shackle bolts in this kit? I do not see an equalizer pivot bolt listed in the kit. Is it available? Thank you.

Randy, I have a couple routes you can go since the grease zerk on the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit # K71-448-00 is not going to fit inside your hanger. We do have the Triangular Equalizer # TREQ310 but this comes with nylon inserts so you would need to swap them for Bronze # D014-077-00 if you wanted to have Wet Bolts # MR46ZR.

Otherwise you could use the Kit # K71-448-00 and swap out the standard pivot bolts which come with the kit for the Wet Bolt # MR92HR and Nut # MR85DR. The shackle straps on these are 1/2" thick and the length of the bolts used with the shackles are 3-1/4" long.

Hey Randy, how did things go with the suspension setup on your Trailex trailer? Did the equalizer and shackle combo you chose fit better with your hanger clearance? Your update could make it easier for others working with the same trailer design.
