Question:
Please refer to the attached pic of my Solara end cap on the idler head assembly. Apparently the hole in the end cap has become elongated wallowed out and now the slide binds on the awning when opening. It appears that to fix the issue, I will need a replacement head assembly. My slide measures 129.5 ft total - flange to flange. From the video do you concur, and if so, when I purchase the assembly, are there instructions about how to safely unloadinch the tension in the spring in preparation to swap the internal assembly? Any help and advice is appreciated.

Hey Randy,
The arms on your slide-out awning have A&E labels so you'll actually have to reach out to Dometic because Solera and other brands use different size components, making them incompatible with each other. If you give Dometic a call I'm sure they'd be able to get you a new endcap or the whole spring/endcap/arm assembly, which definitely looks to be your issue.
These awnings are under a lot of tension so you'll want to make sure when you remove the roller tube that you're very careful to keep tension on the roller and slowly let it unwind.
If for some reason Dometic can't give you an endcap or the whole assembly and you have to replace the awning you can use part # LCV000184673. If you have to go this route then I recommend picking up some butyl tape # AL28FJ for the backside of the mounting brackets.
