Question:
Do the driver and passenger side rails on the RetraxPro XR both have open slots for the locking mechanisms? Or, is there only an open slot on the drivers side and the passenger side works by friction only? My passenger side rail doesnt have a slot and the friction point is making a gouge. Hey Tom,
The driver's side rail for the RetraxPRO XR Hard Tonneau Cover # RTT-80383 is the only side that will have a slot for the locking mechanism. I haven't really heard of anyone having a gouging issue on the passenger side so I'd reach out to Retrax to see what they say and possibly get the rail replaced under warranty. If you stick with the current rail I would definitely touch it up with a black paint marker.
