Over-The-Cab Ladder Rack Options For A 2022 Ram 2500 With An 8' Bed

Hey Michael,

I have three options for your 2022 Ram 2500 from you to choose from:

The first being the Erickson Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack # EM07707. This is your standard contractor-style ladder rack that you've likely seen quite a bit of out on the road. It's nice solid rack that will get the job done, but is quite loud when driving at speeds over 45mph. I actually have one of these myself and used some gasket maker to fill in any spaces that could allow wind to pass through and whistle.

The next option is the Thule TracRac TracONE Ladder Rack w/ Cantilever # TH27000XT-EX. This rack is going to be a lot less bulky and easier to move around by yourself. This rack is a bit more aerodynamic and has less pieces so there's going to be less noise/wind resistance with this rack.

The final option is the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack w/ Cantilever # TH43003XT-000EX. This is a premium version of the TracONE rack with the added benefit of sliding towers that will allow you to easily adjust them to haul different items. Since the base of this rack mounts into the stake pockets you'd be able to use a tonneau cover that sits inside the bedrails as well, unlike with the other racks.

The TracRac SR is going to be the best option if you want adjustability or the option to use a tonneau cover in the future.
