How to Install the Thule TracRac TracONE Ladder Racks on a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to be taking a look at, and installing, the TracRac TracONE Truck Bed Ladder Rack. Here's what our ladder rack looks like on our truck. It's designed to carry ladders or either large equipment that you can't fit into the bed of your truck. It features an aerodynamic design, and the elliptical crossbars are going to cut down a lot of the wind noise and drag that are commonly associated with ladder racks. It also has an 800 pound weight capacity. It also comes with four tie-downs that are fully adjustable in our T-track here, simply loosen them up by turning them to the left, and then we can slide our tie-down anywhere along our track, and then to lock it down, simply tighten it down by turning it to the right.

It's made out of aluminum, so it's going to be strong and durable, and along with the powder coat finish, it's going to be rust proof. It features a no drill application, and it's going to use C-clamps to attach to our bed rail. Now that we've gone over some of the features, let's show you how easy it is to get installed. We already have one piece of our ladder rack installed, let's go ahead and show you how we get the other piece on. We're going to go ahead and take it, and we're going to loosely place it in the general spot that we want to mount it at. Now, if we come to our vertical post here, and we look up, we're going to have two Allen bolts that are going to hold it in place.

I'm going to use a 732nd Allen to loosen them a little bit, that way I can even up my spread to make sure it sits nicely on my truck bed. With that loose, we can take our vertical support here, and we can slide it all the way to the outside, making sure that it's butted up against our truck bed, and then we can check the other side and make sure that it's nice and square. With everything adjusted, we can come back to those Allen bolts, and we can tighten them up.The way we're going to attach this, is we're going to use a C-style clamp, so if we get our clamp in place we can put our T-plate on and loosely tighten up the bolt just so we have enough tension to keep the T-plate from falling off. Now, each side of our ladder rack is going to use two clamps, per side. We're going to go ahead and install the rest of our clamps.

On each side, when you put these clamps on, there's no exact spot you need to put them, but you want to put them as far apart from each other that you can. With our clamps loosely in place, we can come back and using a 732nd Allen, we can tighten up our bolts. Now with this side done, we can go repeat the same process and put our two clamps on the other side. With all of our clamps in place, and our ladder tied down, we're ready to hit the road. And that will finish up the look at the TracRac TracONE Truck Bed Ladder Rack on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500..
