Question:
The Yakima Ridgeback 4 hitch Y02458 can that be used with a class I hitch??? 2000lb tow 200lb tongue, 1.25 hitch?

Expert Reply:
Although the Yakima RidgeBack 4-Bike Rack # Y02458 has the same 1-1/4-inch size shank as a Class I carrier, it will fit only Class II hitches. This is because all Class I hitches have a maximum bike carrying capacity of two bikes, no more. This is true for any brands of hitches or carriers.
If you would like to advise your vehicle information I will be glad to check for availability of a suitable 3-bike trunk-mount carrier. Another potential option is to install a roof rack and roof-mount carriers to hold two of the four bikes. With your vehicle year/make/model/version I can check for both possibilities.
