Can Valve Extenders Be Used On an Internal TPMS System for Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

Updated 05/24/2024 | Published 05/22/2024

Question:

Have a Mercedes Sprinter dually RV. The wheels have internal TPMS monitors - TST-507 system. The inner rims are steel and outer rims are alum. Don’t know if inner stems are rubber or metal. I’ve read articles not recommending using valve extenders with TPMS. I can understand for valve mounted monitors but is that true if monitors are internal? If I can use extenders what do you recommend? I’ve also seen some systems recommend a rubber sleeve that goes in outer rim hole to stabilize extender, do you recommend? Thanks,

You can use a valve stem extender like the Wheel Masters Tire Pressure Valve Extenders # WM80294 and be fine, but some people would argue that you create an additional point of failure, and some extenders are prone to leaking.

Personally I have not heard of anything bad about the Wheel Masters Tire Pressure Valve Extenders # WM80294 and many people have used them without issue.
