Trouble Filling The Reese Goose Box With Air
Updated 05/21/2024 | Published 05/19/2024 >
Question:
I have installed the GooseBox. When I go to inflate the airbag, the shrader valve does not take air. There is a black plastic rod that is in the hole. I can remove it but then there is nothing in the hole. Is there a special fitting or something to make this air up? There is not the typical schrader valve inside.

First I want to make sure you are using the correct opening on the Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter # RP85FR. In the image below the correct opening is the lower cap below the blue portion. This is the correct connection for filling the air spring. I believe you may be trying to fill from the upper cap which is part of the overfill protection.

I am not using the top. I know what a schrader valve is and how to use one. It ended up being my air chuck center point not being able to compress the black insert of the schrader valve. I've wore it out.
