Question:
87486 Im purchasing hidden hitch receiver listed above for a 2013 Nissan Murano. I also would like to purchase Yakima part # Y02451 double down ace bike rack. My question is it says that it is for class 2 hitches only is this a problem or does it matter? The hidden hitch receiver is class 3. Im only a weekend bike rider and is this the best carrier for me and my kids. Please advise so I can place my order. Thanks.

The Yakima RidgeBack # Y02458, will fit 1-1/4 inch hitches, as long as they are Class II hitches, and any 2 inch trailer hitch. The etrailer # e65AR is a Class III trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver so the rack will fit the hitch, no problem.
There are 2 types of 1-1/4 inch hitch: a Class I and a Class II. Class I hitches have a very low capacity and are usually found on small vehicles that cannot do any towing. There are safety features built into a Class I hitch that prevent certain accessories from fitting. That is why it states Class II only in the description for the bike rack. But it only refers to 1-1/4 inch hitches.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical mens bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # Y02531. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wifes bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my sons bike at all.
