Replacement 7-Way Wiring Harness for a Pollak PA66MD40

Question:
I have a dynamax motorhome which is on a mercedes sprinter van chassis. My trailer wiring harness is shot. It is a Pollak PA66MD40 and I found that it is superceded by Pollak P/N PK11893-11933. Once the old plug is removed, there is still part of the connector left on the wiring harness. Can I connect the new PK11893-11933 to the old part remaining on the rv? I have pictures that can send as well. Thx
