Troubleshooting A Toolbox That's Unlocked But Latch Hooks Won't Release

Question:
I cant get the tool box to open. Its unlocked but I think the hooks inside are stuck. What can I do to open it? Will spraying a bunch of wd40 on the latch work.

Hey Karen,
If the hooks on your tool box are stuck there isn't an easy way to get them to release other than just drilling out the lock completely. A lubricant like WD40 could help but you'll likely need to jiggle the lock quite a bit. Try pressing down on the lid as well when unlocking it as the hooks will typically sit in a way that if the lid is being pulled up it puts more pressure on the hook. If you end up having to drill it out let me know what your box is and I can see if we have any compatible replacement locks available.
