What Size Screws Are Included With the Peterson Clearance or Side Marker Trailer Light # M116A

Updated 03/19/2024 | Published 03/18/2024

Question:

What size and thread pattern are the screws that come with this light? I purchased 2 of these lights and the holes line up with my old lights I had on the trailer, however the thread pattern on these screws is different than the existing screws. My problem is that 2 of the screws are stripped and not reusable. The screws that came with the light are not the same thread pattern as the existing ones. When I try to use them, it will not screw into my metal trailer and I do not want to force them into the existing holes.

The Peterson Clearance or Side Marker Trailer Light # M116A comes with 2 screws that are #6-18 thread size and have a 3/4" length. Depending on what you previously had you may need to drill out the holes to make them larger and allow the new screw to thread itself into the trailer frame or tap the holes for the threads.
