Question:
I need a jack to replace a Fulton Bolt-Thru Swivel Marine Jack from a Javelin trailer built about 1999. The jack that came off is a 1000 lb jack, but it has a 3/8inch diameter pull pin on it. The new jack I have been looking at is the Fulton model FXP10W0301. As close as I can tell, this jack should fit - except for the pull pin, which is a 1/2inch diameter. Does Fulton still make a similar jack with a 3/8inch diameter pull pin? Or can the pins be swapped out from the old jack to the new one? Thank you!

The 1/2" pull pin like the one the # FXP10W0301 is their current standard. If you want to use the same mount I would try to see if the pin fits since there is only a 1/8" difference. If not, you could enlarge the hole slightly so the pin can get in there. If you don't want to mess with that the other option would be to get the Fulton Bolt-Thru Swivel Marine Jack w/ Caster # FXP10 and bolt it on next to the old mount.

Robin, Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I got a prompt asking me to that, so here goes. Thanks! I had come to a couple of the same conclusions (drill out the holes to enlarge slightly, or scrap the weld on situation and put in a new mount). I elected to risk that the new unit with the 1/2" pull pin will either fit the existing 3/8" holes (though I doubt that) or drill out the necessary holes. I ordered an FXP10W0301 model. My concern on drilling out is that I might enlarge the holes, but no centered properly to smoothly accept the large pull pin. We'll see, and I'll adjust if needed. I was a little surprised that there was no option to swap out the 1/2" pull pin on the new unit with the 3/8" pull pin from the old unit. My guess is that having even a little 'play' in the hole size may lead to problems over time. I appreciate your help! Jim Doyle, Plano TX
