Can you confirm that this baseplate is the EZ5 as shown in the product video for my 2019 2.0 awd equinox? I also wanted to check compatibility with my 2017 nighthawk towbar. Are there any additional adapters needed for the connection?

Hi Chris,
Yes, the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523193-5 is an EZ5 baseplate and fits the following models: 1.5L Turbo Gas FWD, 1.6 Diesel FWD and 1.6 Diesel AWD only. For 2019 only, includes the 2.0L Turbo FWD and AWD. You shouldn't need any adapters to connect to your Nighthawk tow bar # RM-676 as long as it's the version that has Roadmaster direct-connect style attachment points. There's a version with connectors for Blue Ox baseplates # RM-677 so just double check what you have.
If you haven't picked out the rest of your flat towing components then I have the following recommendations for you:
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: For incandescent lights you'll need the Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage Incandescent Tail Lights # RM26FR and for LED tail lights part # RM38FR
Braking System: If your motorhome has hydraulic brakes then you'll want the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo # SM99251. This will need to tap into the brake light switch, which isn't useable on your Equinox so you'll need to install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751489.
If you motorhome has air brakes then you'll need the Demco Air Force One # SM99243 instead. This won't require the Stop Light Switch Kit.
Since the battery will drain while towing I recommend also installing a charge line kit # RM-156-25 to keep it charged while towing.
