What Suspension Enhancement Kit for 2012 Ram 2500 will Give Best Ride Quality
Published 02/26/2024 >
Question:
I have a 2012 Ram diesel crew 2500 8bed pulling 34foot fifth wheel at a bit over 2400 at the rear pin when loaded. I have the fire stone adjustable air bags compressor with remote. The minimal 5000lb air creates a horrible highway ride. I am removing it. Do you think the 3000lb sumo helper spring will give a smoother ride? Thanks

Hey Eric, typically when running the minimum air pressure in a Firestone air bag kit the ride quality isn't affected at all. I am pretty sure you didn't mean to type 5,0000 PSI but in case there was some confusion the minimum PSI is 5 to keep the bags from deforming and damaging themselves.
Now if you were running 5 psi and you did still want to go to a different suspension enhancement setup the best option will be the Roadactive kit part # RAS3613-HD for a kit that actually improves loaded and unloaded ride quality and handling/stability. Basically everything else is going to make the ride quality harsher including the SumoSprings.
