Hello, 2015 Subaru Outback w/o trailer hitch feature. Is this rack essentially Locked via the strap hooks being correctly attached to my locked vehicle ?? Thanks !

Hi David; that's a really good question as we all want our things to stay where they belong - in our possession. But the strap hooks won't actually "lock" the Thule Passage Trunk Bike Rack # TH910XT.

While it is unlikely anybody will unhook the straps of the # TH910XT when it's on your car, the straps could be cut in seconds, so if someone wanted it, they could take it. BUT...there is a way to secure it, using a strap from Thule:

- Thule Passive Security Strap for Trunk Mounted Bike Carriers # TH533

The # TH533 has nylon-coated steel cables that can't just be cut like the rack's straps, and frankly, the strap's mere presence is an excellent deterrent; there will be much easier opportunities for would-be thieves to snag a rack that isn't secured. It's simple to use too, as you just loop it around the rack and store the puck end in your hatch.
