Trimming J-Hooks of Yakima Overhaul to Fit 2024 Nissan Frontier Better

Question:

I have the Yakima Overhaul bed rack with j clamps to install on my 2024 Nissan Frontier. The M12 bolts that it comes with are too short for any real bite into the threading of the j clamp. Are there longer bolts available, or is it better to find someone that will cut my j clamps down and inch?

Hey Robert, since there isn't a longer J-bolt option for your Yakima OverHaul part # Y01151-58 your best option would be to trim down the J-bolt so that it would allow more thread access like you mentioned. If you can get it so that you can see one thread on the opposite of the nut you'd be good.
