Will the awning be safe to keep on my truck all year long through winter when not in use

The Rhino-Rack Dome Awning # RR32125 can be left on the car year-round, but the components aren't impervious to the elements so they'll wear down over the years quicker than an awning that was stored inside during harsh weather conditions.
