Pop & Lock Tailgate Lock For 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 & Does it Have to Run to Cab

I have a 2019 Chevy 2500 hd and I’m installing the pop lock cap lock for leer the cap already has item installed but does not that the truck side of the wiring harness I need that part number also can I wire this into my locking tailgate wires that are already back by cap instead of running clear up to cab ?

I also took a look at the instructions for you, and they do specify that you need to run the wire up to the cab and engine compartment.
