Question:
Hello, once installed on my Lowbed Microsport trailer, would this 2nd tier crossbar support a 3rd kayak Old Town PDL 120 without the Pedal system just the empty boat ~ 90lbs on the top 2nd tier crossbar? I would like to be able to transport a total of three kayaks on my Malone Lowbed Microsport trailer. All three kayaks are MPG474 ’s. I typically remove all accessories including the pedal system when transporting and it says the load capacity for the 2nd tier crossbar is 100lbs. I’d like to know before I make the purchase. Thank you

It sounds like you are definitely on the right track here. To answer your question, yes, the 2nd Tier Load Bar System # MPG474 will indeed support one of your Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL’s. The 2nd tier does have a 100 lb capacity, so as long as the kayak is at 90 lbs with the pedal system and all accessories removed you will be completely fine.
The Malone LowBed MicroSport Trailer has an 800 lb capacity so even with the 2nd tier and three 90 lb kayaks you are well under the specified weight limit.
You will need additional tie downs for the 2nd tier, I recommend using something like our etrailer Kayak Tie-Down Kit # e36ZR
