Question:
Hi: I have a 3-bank battery system hooked up in series, therefore a 36 volt output to the trolling motor. Will the Noco Gen On-Board Charger-3 Bank-12v-15amp charger work without disconnecting each battery?

Expert Reply:
The NOCO GEN On-Board Battery Charger # NOC94FR will work for charging all 3 of your 12v batteries at the same time, however you will need to disconnect each battery prior to charging.
If you want to keep all 3 batteries wired in series, they will need to be charged as if they were a single battery. For that you can use the NOCO Genius UltraSafe Industrial Battery Charger # 329-GX3626 which is made for 36v systems. The charger will connect to the positive terminal on the lead battery and to the negative terminal on the 3rd battery. This is what I recommend doing because you can charge all three batteries while keeping them wired together. Re-wiring everything each time you are done charging could turn into a hassle.
