Helpful Expert Reply:
For your 2006 Dodge Sprinter with the 158 inch wheel base and dual rear wheels with the step bumper I recommend Curt trailer hitch # 14250. Since you have the 3500 series Sprinter, this hitch will allow you to maximize the amount of weight you can tow (consult owners manual for towing capacity of the Sprinter).
The hitch is rated for 10,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 1,000 pounds tongue weight. When used with weight distribution it is rated for 12,000 pounds gross trailer weight, and 1,200 pounds tongue weight.
If you are going to do some towing I also recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK2216. It comes with a ball mount, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. And for trailer wiring you can use # C59496 if your Sprinter does not already have a factory installed trailer connector.
