Will Curt Trailer Hitch Fit 2023 and 2024 Kia Niro PHEV

Question:
Just confirming hitch #C77NR fits a 2023 or 24 niro phev. One reviewer said an emissions canister needs to be removed. Is this correct?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C77NR will fit the 2023 and 2024 Kia Niro PHEV. Gas models require lowering the emissions canister so the hitch can fit. We have only had the one instance where someone felt the need to completely remove it, but they reinstalled it after. Complete removal is not necessary. It looks like the PHEV does use some gasoline so I would expect to have to lower the canister during installation.
