Installing The etrailer Electric Trailer Jack On A Trailer Tongue With Excessive Powder Coating
Updated 01/08/2024 | Published 01/06/2024 >
Question:
I purchased this jack for my T@B 400 I am having trouble installing, trouble is it will not go thru bottom hole.It seems to me that the paint / power coat is just a bit thick .I tried sanding down a bit but still no go .If I try to screw it thru it is back breaking. It is so close.what should I do.I am thinking to use paint remover to remove all coating below the mounting plate and then repaint after install. This should have taken 15 minutes to install. So far I am very disappointed with this product.please help me. Thanks.

The outer tube of the Electric Jack w/ Footplate and 7-Way Plug # EJ-3527-BBX is 2-1/4" in diameter, which is a standard diameter for most tongue-mounted trailer jacks. If the paint on the trailer tongue is preventing the tube from sliding through the hole then you'll unfortunately need to sand through it or use a grinder to cut through the excess until you can get the jack to pass through. Once you get the jack installed I recommend touching up the paint to help prevent any rust or corrosion from forming between the tongue and jack.
