is the y fitting just to circulate through heater core ? In my case it is going on a tractor with no cab or heater

The Y-Tube # KH28110 included with the Kat's Heaters Thermostatically Controlled Circulating Tank Heater # KH13150 is for splicing in line of the coolant heater line running to the water pump. Since you likely do not have one of these smaller diameter lines you will need to find a Radiator Hose Tee to match the size of your hose from the list below.

1-1/4" # KH28114
1-1/2" # KH28115
1-3/4" # KH28116
2" # KH28117
