Can Curt Spectrum Brake Controller Replace Factory Controller in 2018 Toyota Tundra

Hello. I have purchased the Curt Spectrum from you folks, with plug-n-play connection harness for my 2018 Tundra SR. The Tundra has the flashy built-in Toyota factory trailer brake controller - which intermittently throws a trailer disconnected warning - with bonus no trailer brakes. The relevant TSB is: T-SB-0036-19. But before I unplug the Toyota controller and install this Curt controller I want to confirm that this controller is compatible and plays nicely with a Tundra that came with the Toyota tow package and Toyota in-dash brake controller. I dont see this question addressed directly in QandA so thanks for clarifying.
