Is Quick Roof Butyl Tape for Rubber Roof Seams # QR59FR Self Healing
Published 11/13/2023 >
Question:
Im installing a flexible TPO gutter system on my raised outside wood deck prior to installing the deck boards. I plan on overlapping the TPO on each deck joist and securing it with an adhesive sealant and staples. Once that is complete, Id like to lay your black Quick Roof Butyl Tape for Rubber Roof Seams - 25foot Long x 3inch Wide over all of the joist followed by the installation of 2x6inch pressure treated decking boards. The deck boards will be secured to the joist with either galvanized nails or PT compatible deck screws whereby piercing your Quick Roof Butyl Tape. Two Questions: - Is this tape compatible with the TPO? I believe your literature indicates it is but Id like to verify. - Is this tape self-healing? After the nails or screws are installed will this tape self-seal the nails/screws preventing water from migrating/passage below. Thank you!

Yes, the Quick Roof Butyl Tape for Rubber Roof Seams # QR59FR that you referenced is compatible with TPO. This butyl tape is also self-healing too so your nails/screws wouldn't affect it's ability to seal.
